Why is my lip-sync not working or showing no mouth movement?

Last updated: March 10, 2026

Context

You may encounter issues where your lip-sync videos either show no mouth movement at all or have incorrect lip synchronization, even when using the same settings that worked previously. This can happen with any of the lip-sync models, including lipsync-2-pro.

Answer

Lip-sync issues typically occur when your input video doesn't contain the necessary visual elements for the model to generate proper mouth movements. Here's how to resolve this:

Root Cause: Our lip-sync models require visible, natural talking motion in the input video to function properly. The models use 2-second independent chunks for inference and need to detect natural speaking style to generate appropriate lip movements.

Common Issues:

  • Static or still video segments where the speaker is not actively moving

  • Closed-mouth segments during speaking

  • Videos with still frames, even if audio is present

Solution:

  1. Ensure your input video shows the speaker actively talking throughout the entire duration you want to lip-sync

  2. Avoid using videos with static segments or still frames

  3. Make sure the speaker's mouth is visible and naturally moving during speech

If you continue experiencing issues: Contact support with your job IDs or video links, specify which model you used, and confirm your settings. Our team will review the generations.
