How do I create a lip sync video?
Last updated: January 23, 2026
Context
You want to synchronize a video with audio so that the speaker's mouth movements match the audio track. This process, called lip syncing, allows you to replace the original audio in a video with new audio while maintaining realistic lip movements.
Answer
To create a lip sync video, follow these simple steps:
Go to the Studio at https://sync.so/projects
Create a new project or open an existing one
Upload your video file (the video you want to lip sync)
Upload your audio file (the audio you want the video to sync to)
Click the blue "Generate" or "Sync" button
The platform will process your files and create a new video where the speaker's lip movements are synchronized with your uploaded audio.
Important notes:
You need to upload both video and audio files separately, even if your video already contains audio. There is also an option to extract the audio from your input video.
The original audio in your video will be replaced with the new audio file you upload
Make sure your video shows someone speaking for the best lip sync results
You can also use the text-to-speech feature to generate audio instead of uploading your own audio file if needed.
