Understanding unexpected charges on your Sync subscription

Last updated: January 23, 2026

If you're seeing additional charges beyond your standard subscription fee, there are two common reasons: usage-based billing or multiple active subscriptions.

Usage-Based Billing

Your Sync subscription includes platform access and premium features like no watermark removal, but video generation incurs separate usage charges based on the number of frames processed during lipsyncing.

How usage billing works:

  • Charges begin immediately when you generate videos, regardless of video length or subscription tier

  • Billing is calculated per frame processed, not video duration

  • Even short videos (under 30 seconds) can generate usage charges

  • Additional charges can appear within hours of video generation

  • Monthly charges vary depending on your usage

Understanding your usage charges:

  • Check the cost estimate displayed at the bottom of the app before submitting jobs

  • Review your invoice for detailed breakdowns showing frames generated across different models (Lipsync 2, Lipsync 2 Pro, etc.)

  • Each model may have different per-frame costs that accumulate to your total usage charge

  • Usage charges are separate from and additional to your monthly subscription fee

Multiple Active Subscriptions

If you notice duplicate monthly charges (typically your standard subscription fee appearing twice), you may have accidentally created multiple subscriptions using different email addresses, such as a personal and work email.

To resolve duplicate subscriptions:

  1. Check your payment method for multiple Sync charges to identify which email addresses have active subscriptions

  2. Log into the account you want to cancel using the appropriate email address

  3. Go to https://sync.so/billing/subscription

  4. Click 'Cancel Subscription' in the top right

If you don't have access to the email address for the unwanted subscription, contact support for assistance with cancellation.

Remember that each email address creates a separate subscription and billing cycle, which is why you may see what appears to be duplicate charges.
